YM SERVICE Today's sermon was extremely awesome! Pastor Joseph Chean shared the sermon. He is rather good! And the title was 'hearing the cry of nations' I learnt that 1. People out there are more interested in hearing the gospel than us 2. They have a burning desire to know Christ. How do you know someone is loving God? Well, that person must love others as God loved us! Romans 13:8-10 "8Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. 9The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet,"[a] and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."[b] 10Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law." And that is they KEYKEY point for that sermon. Paul says that if someone is loving God, we can see by how they love our neighbours(: Therefore if you say you love God but you don't love your neighbours, it is not considered you love God. Some people, including me have prejudice against others. We must break that chain and learn to accept others. Accept the 'aliens' and 'foreigners'. Lev 19:33-34 33 " 'When an alien lives with you in your land, do not mistreat him. 34 The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the LORD your God. Mother theresa says God hides himself among the poor, if you want to find God, you have to go to the poor. So what is POOR? 1. Physically, mentally, spritually, emotionally disabled No matter how much you relate to that particular person, they cant relate to you. He/She cannot. 2. Different mentality Want to get out of poverty but cannot. So I concluded that God wants me to use the ability i have to share the gospel. as half of the population are in poverty and haben't known christ and been blessed by Christ Jesus. God is almighty God did what people can't do. Jesus performed miracles. He healed people...blind, crippled, deaf, even raised a couple of people from the dead. He had power over objects...created food out of thin air, enough to feed crowds of several thousand people. He performed miracles over nature...walked on top of a lake, commanding a raging storm to stop for some friends. People everywhere followed Jesus, because he constantly met their needs, doing the miraculous. He said if you do not want to believe what I'm telling you, you should at least believe in me based on the miracles you're seeing. Jesus Christ showed God to be gentle, loving, aware of our self-centeredness and shortcomings, yet deeply wanting a relationship with us. Jesus revealed that although God views us as sinners, worthy of his punishment, his love for us ruled and God came up with a different plan. God himself took on the form of man and accepted the punishment for our sin on our behalf. Sounds ludicrous? Perhaps, but many loving fathers would gladly trade places with their child in a cancer ward if they could. The Bible says that the reason we would love God is because he first loved us. Jesus died in our place so we could be forgiven. Of all the religions known to humanity, only through Jesus will you see God reaching toward humanity, providing a way for us to have a relationship with him. Jesus proves a divine heart of love, meeting our needs, drawing us to himself. Because of Jesus' death and resurrection, he offers us a new life today. We can be forgiven, fully accepted by God and genuinely loved by God. He says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love, therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you." This is God, in action!
